Women's Day
We we thrilled to have received so many nominations for our inspirational women feature. Oer 30 of you voted – and all nominations were fully deserved. There sure are some great women out there!
The winner, however, was Chizara – 14, from the UK. She nominated her mother and her older sister – with the below words:
My role - model who inspires me the most is my mother. :) She has been through so much and now she is a manager and owner of a massive company in Nigeria! Even when my sister was nearly dying of type+++ malaria she travelled up to 50 miles to see her in her boarding school, and at the time there was a strike on petrol and she had to use ocada's and dunfo buses (which are very dangerous) to get there. Even when I feel like giving up she always finds a way to cheer me up. She also had to travel to India just to buy a packaging machine for the factory, in the night (and usually during the day) NEPA cuts power of and we'll be working in the dark using candles. She hardly got any sleep doing all the manual work then.
I also love my elder sister, I am so proud of her, she’s 16 in college and when she gets to university she is to find a cure for many of the sickness in Africa, to help her fellow peole out (she even wants to find a cure for AIDS). LOL. But you never know:) Thank you for listening.
Congrats, Chizara – we’re sending you two gorgeous Body Shop gift bags – containing lots of pampering treats! Enjoy!
