Sex Debate...

What would you say to people who argue that promotion of condoms encourages promiscuity?

There are lots of people out there who believe that giving out free condoms to young people encourages them to have sex - when they maybe wouldn’t have considered it before.

I don’t really see any strength in this argument. They don’t mention the people that are having - or considering having – sex – these people may not have access to condoms or be embarrassed about buying them. Surely in this situation it’s a good thing as it’s offering protection?!

Also, everyone knows that it’s super important to be prepared. Sex can sometimes happen when you least expect it… by carrying a condom – and using it – you’re making sure you’re protected.

The big question is this, at what age should people be able to receive free condoms?

Reports say that they are being given to people as young as 11. What do you think about this? Let us know by leaving a comment below…

WEN U TELL US THAT IF WE R GOIN 2 HAVE SEX USE A CONDOM U MAKE IT SAME AS IF IT IS OK BUT IT'S NOT. IF U DIDNT REALIZE CONDOMS ARE NOT FULL PROOF AND ANYTHING CAN GO WRONG AS A TEENAGER I SAY ABSTINANCE IS THE BEST WAY

I think its a good idea to promote condoms to young people for the fact that sex is there and they know about it, now its not the time to hide things it is the time guide them to safesex(it may not be there when they need it stupid enough to have unsafesex)

because im really quite young i realise that at these ages um we seem to loose our virginity alot younger then other generations before us and giving condoms to kids is really good because especially the area where i live we have like the highest rate of teenaged pregnancy in our country. when you give a teenager a condom you dont make them like more likely to do that you're just giving them the choice to use it or not because it does come down to the individual person.

the earlier we face facts the better fior us and the next generation yo come, believe or accept it or not young people regardsles og age will be invloued in sexaul activity at one point or the other so do we let those ones become infected because of our "standards" it what we should think about.

Nigeria is simply a nation with huge double standards and this needs to be corrected. Truth be told the youth here are sexually active and the same parents that frown on condom use, also frown on abortion, oregnancy before marriage and sexually transmitted diseases.

From my point of view, it´s OK to distribute condoms at the age of 11 even if the legal age to have sex is higher IF (!) the distribution is accompanied by proper sexuality education. My understanding of "proper sexuality education" is that it includes besides condom use instructions discussions about how do you know that you´re ready for sex and other relationship issues.

As much as we want to wish that young people are not having sex.... they are and its sad at the age they are starting to do it.. they best thing is to have them equipped with the condoms and more so info so that they can decide for themselves... sex is a way of life .. the way people are misusing it thats the problem

i do not think its promiscuity...because giving out free condoms does not promote people to have sex.it rather protects the ones who already decided to have sex.the free condoms are really hepful especially in the 3rd world contries.because the they are many people living below a dollar a day.with the free condoms the need not have to worry about buying condoms.because they are readliy available.some people fill shy of going to pharmacies and asking for condoms.with the free ones.they just go to the vending machine and do not need to talk to anyone
